• TXI Promotes Executives

Dallas based TXI recently promoted four vice presidents.

Ronnie Pruitt was promoted to the position of vice president, Cement and Aggregate Sales. Prior to this promotion, he was general sales manager for Central Region - Aggregate / Cement.

"Pruitt started with TXI in 1994, and for the past 8 years, Ronnie has held several key sales and sales management positions within the company. His new areas of responsibility will be for all cement and aggregate sales throughout the company," says J. Lynn Davis, vice president, Cement.

James (Jamie) Rogers has been named vice president of Consumer Products. His most recent position was general manager of Consumer Products.

"The company is forming a Consumer Products Business Unit that will have full profit and loss responsibility," says Mel Brekhus, executive vice president of TXI's cement, aggregates and concrete operations. "Jamie will have responsibility for profitability and growth of the Athens Brick, Cemstar, Packaged Products and Masonry operations as well as the Ready Mix Concrete operations in Texas and Louisiana."

Phil Gaynor has been named vice president, Cement Manufacturing. Prior to this promotion he held the position of manufacturing manager, Western - Region.

"Phil has been in the cement industry for 26 years and has experience in many aspects of the business, from production to human resources," Davis says. "His broad background and knowledge of this industry certainly prepared him for this new responsibility."

Gaynor will be responsible for the company's cement production facilities in Midlothian and Hunter, Texas and Oro Grande and Crestmore, California. And Davis himself was promoted to vice president, Cement.

"J. Lynn will head up the Cement Business Unit for the company," Brekhus says. "This new position gives J. Lynn responsibility for all manufacturing, sales, distribution and engineering for our cement business. His 32 years of cement experience will prove to be a valuable asset in this new role."

Davis joined TXI in 1971 at the Midlothian Texas cement plant. In 1980 he was named plant manager of the Hunter Texas cement plant and in 1996 vice president, Cement Production.
