The Caterpillar H140D hydraulic hammer matches the Cat 325C, 330C, 322C and similar-sized competitive excavators. The hammer measures 103.9 in. from the top plate to the tip of the tool. The operating weight is 5,182 lb. Impact energy rating is 3,155 ft-lb, a 2% increase over the C-Series model. Impact frequency is 350 to 600 blows per minute, 25% to 30% more than the previous design. An automatic shutoff feature turns off the hammer when no material is beneath. It features full-length wear plates on all four sides of the inner housing. A dust seal keeps dirt out of the housing, and a lower tool bushing uses a slip-fit design.
