Puerto Rican aggregate and concrete producer Grupo Carmelo named Edgar Figueroa as president and CEO, effective June 8, 2009. Grupo Carmelo’s exiting president and CEO, Melba Figueroa, will remain in the company as chairman of the board. The Figueroas are siblings.

Mr. Figueroa has over 25 years of experience in the company. He successfully launched the Mortar Division of Grupo Carmelo during the last three years. He will work with Efraín Carreras, COO; Víctor Camacho, vice president of operations and sales of the Recycling Division; Ramón López, vice president of administration; and Jannette Figueroa, vice president of marketing.
