Argonics Moves Facility
Argonics has moved from Marquette to Gwinn, Mich., and into a single 72,000-square-foot integrated facility, expanding its operation from 40,000 square feet across five buildings to 72,000 square feet in one integrated facility.
“We now have our complete production facility and all aspects of manufacturing, logistics, shipping, receiving and research and development under one roof," says CEO Dave Puskala. "This move is part of our lean manufacturing strategy and prepares us for future growth and expansion.”
The new facility creates an opportunity for Argonics to upgrade critical manufacturing equipment. The company has invested in an additional polyurethane dispenser, which will be used to produce “off table” products. The addition of this new dispenser also increases the variety of products to be produced, as well as the overall production capacity. Both dispensers are equipped with programmable logic controllers.
Argonics added several pieces of equipment to automate many processes, including two new CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining centers and two new CNC lathes. These manufacturing components enable more precise molds, automate machining processes and expedite finishing work for urethane, steel and other metals.
