• Jay Marak has been named corporate safety director for Cherry, a company specializing in demolition, aggregates and road removal. Marak has 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Most recently he was principal for Marak Safety Service.

• Timothy J. DiBerardino has joined the National Lime and Stone Co. as group vice president of product distribution. His focus will be on rail-served markets and opportunities for aggregate sales.

• Vulcan Materials has been inducted into the Alabama Road Builders Association Hall of Fame. Vulcan is the first company to be recognized by the association, which previously recognized individuals only.

• Courtney Barrett recently joined McLanahan Corp. He has 15 years of experience managing sales in South America, where his focus will remain. Johnny Escribano also joined the company as a regional sales manager focused on Mexican, Central American and Puerto Rican markets.

• Steve Patterson, president and CEO of Orlando, Fla.-based ZOM USA, recently was appointed chairman of the National Association of Home Builders' Multifamily Leadership Board. He succeeds Leonard Wood Partners and will serve a two-year term.
