The McCloskey R155 high-energy screener provides a 16- ◊ 5-foot screenbox, with 155 square feet of screening area. The upper screen is coupled with a lower screen deck measuring 15 ◊ 5 feet. The R155 also has a large top-mounted hopper and a 125-hp Caterpillar engine. The company says it provides the versatility to produce finer material with equal efficiency. The screenbox can elevate hydraulically to a full horizontal position to allow screen changes to the lower deck. The upper screens can be freed for changing by knocking out a quick-release tensioning wedge.
McCloskey says R155 models complement the S-Series flatdeck screeners. The R155 can handle primary screening for feeding a crusher, for example, while the S190 or S130 models screen finished products. Like the S-Series screeners, the R155 is built around the High Energy Screenbox, which can run with a high-powered vibratory stroke of up to 10 millimeters at 950 rpm, or 6 millimeters at 1,130 rpm. All three machines feature McCloskey's new engine compartment, which provides ample space for two maintenance technicians to stand and work, without hydraulic hoses impeding their access to service points.
The R155 has been fitted with a hopper that's 30% larger compared to other units in this screener range. The new 10Ω-cubic-yard hopper also introduces a new design that prevents spillage, the company says. The hopper is offered with a choice of feeders, beginning with the standard belt-type feeder. A Hardox plate feeder is optional on the R155. The screenbox itself reportedly is available with a complete range of screening decks including the standard punch plate and optional woven mesh, finger deck or Bofars bar deck.
