Deere Sales Up 22 Percent in Third Quarter

Deere posted its third quarter results, with net income attributable to Deere & Co. at $712.3 million, or $1.69 per share, for the third quarter ended July 31, compared with $617.0 million, or $1.44 per share, for the same period last year.

July Construction Starts Retreat 10 Percent

The value of new construction starts dropped 10 percent in July to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $394.7 billion, according to McGraw-Hill Construction, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies. The decline followed a 15 percent gain in June, and returned total construction to the lower end of its recent range.
