New Frac Sand Operation Opens in Texas

Permian Frac Sand has opened a location three miles east of Voca, Texas, on State Highway 71. Operations at the new state-of-the-art facility have just begun, according to the Midland Reporter Telegram.

Hi-Crush Partners Increases Sales Volumes

Hi-Crush Partners LP reported third quarter 2015 results. The limited partners' interest in adjusted net income, adjusted to exclude the impact of one-time expenses, was $5.6 million and the basic and diluted adjusted earnings were $0.15 per limited partner unit. The basic and diluted loss per unit during the quarter was negatively impacted by $23.7 million of one-time expenses associated with the write-down of assets acquired from D&I Silica, LLC in June 2013, as well as the costs associated with reducing headcount.

Reservoir Silicates Key Player in LNG Acquisition

Universal LNG Holdings, Inc. announced it is acquiring HEYCO LNG's 64-acre facility in Yoakum, Texas, to build the first Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facility dedicated to the energy sector in the Southern Gulf Coast. The acquisition could provide a much-needed boost to a domestic energy industry struggling under high production costs, according to the company.
