October 7, 2012 - Things are "moving ahead." NSSGA reports that with the start of the fiscal year on Oct. 1, the U.S. Department of Transportation released several new "implementation documents" pertaining to the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21). The documents were issued by U.S. DOT to provide policy direction and "information on funding, eligible activities, and specific requirements" for some programs, including the Surface Transportation Program, the Highway Safety Improvement Program and the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program. Fact sheets are provided for each program, and additional implementation documents are expected to be released over the next few weeks.
