Vista Opens Transload Facility in Pecos, Texas

Vista Proppants & Logistics (VPROP) has commenced commercial transload operations in Pecos, Texas, the newest addition to its terminal network. The facility has approximately 21,000 ft. of rail track that can hold two, 130-car unit trains and will be used for rail-to-truck frac sand transloading services.

"We are excited to announce that we received our first 109-car unit train on Tuesday, Aug. 15th. We built Pecos based on customer demand and to further differentiate ourselves as a logistics leader in the frac sand market," said Chris Favors, vice president of sales at VPROP. "The addition of our Pecos terminal demonstrates our commitment to provide world-class mine-to-wellhead logistics solutions for the oil and gas industry."

The Pecos terminal, which sits on 200 acres, is the first unit-train-capable facility in the southern Delaware Basin that is served directly by Union Pacific Railroad, according to the company.

"Union Pacific is committed to delivering frac sand in this high-demand market," said Kenny Rocker, Union Pacific's vice president and general manager-industrial products. "The new Pecos location connects customers with Union Pacific's extensive network, allowing us to support customers with flexible solutions that meet their needs.
