Minnesota Bill Would Tax Frac Sand

A Minnesota bill, H.F. 1336, would create a taxing structure for the extraction and processing of silica sand mined in the state. A tax is imposed on the extraction of silica sand as well as the processing or washing of sand that occurs in Minnesota.

Northern Frac Proppants Acquires Reserves

Northern Frac Proppants, LLC announced that the acquisition of land and frac sand reserves located on 1,600 acres near Black River Falls, Wis., “is in keeping with NFP’s plans to increase our reserve base and build processing facilities in key geographic locations to better serve our customers with low-cost, high-quality Northern White frac sand proppant.”

Former NFL Star Discusses Chemical-Free Water Treatment for Fracking

Drew Bledsoe, former NFL quarterback and principal of Bledsoe Capital Group, appeared on CNBC's Closing Bell on Friday, March 22nd to discuss how Ecosphere's patented Ozonix technology is allowing oil and gas exploration companies to recycle wastewater and eliminate chemicals traditionally used in the hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, process.

Nuinsco Enters Into Loan Agreement with Victory Nickel

Nuinsco Resources has entered into a loan agreement to provide Victory Nickel Inc. with a secured loan facility of up to $3 million. The loan bears interest at 12 percent per annum, payable quarterly in arrears, and matures on Jan. 31, 2015.
