Hi-Crush Resumes Operations at Whitehall, Idles Augusta Facility

Hi-Crush Partners announced that it resumed operations at its Northern White frac sand production facility in Whitehall, Wis. Concurrently, the partnership announced that it has idled operations at its Northern White frac sand production facility in Augusta, Wis. “The dedicated and experienced workforce at the Augusta facility is in the process of transitioning to the operation of the Whitehall facility,” the company said.

Select Materials Buys Ohio Frac Sand Operation

Select Materials, a bulk landscaping materials firm based in Colorado, acquired an industrial and frac-sand mine located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, effective Feb 8. The transaction is Select Materials’ second sand mine and first endeavor into the frac sand market.

Carbo Revenues Rise in 2018

Carbo Ceramics Inc. reported financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2018. Revenue for 2018 of $211 million increased 12 percent compared to 2017, resulting from solid revenue growth in environmental, industrial and oilfield technology products and services.

Athabasca Minerals Acquires Privco2

Athabasca Minerals Inc. entered into an agreement to acquire ownership of private corporation Privco2 that holds the Duvernay Frac Sand Project in Alberta, Canada. The Duvernay Project adds to and further strengthens the corporation's objective of becoming the leading in-basin frac sand supplier of premium domestic sand in Western Canada through its wholly owned subsidiary, AMI Silica Inc.
