Case Construction Equipment's CX700 excavator weighs 70 metric tons, fitting between the Case CX460 and CX800 models. It is powered by an Isuzu engine that is Tier-3 certified and produces 425 net horsepower. It digs to 31 feet and 11 inches, and reaches to 46 feet and 11 inches at ground line. A switch allows the operator to give priority to either the boom or the swing functions. The CX700 has retractable side frames and an optional counterweight removal device for easier transport. It is fully electronic and uses a common high-pressure rail system that provides 5% more horsepower and 8% to 10% better fuel economy, the company says. The addition of a modified oil-pan drain plug with a check valve facilitates oil changes. The upgraded cooling system reduces the stacking of coolers for better cooling. The excavator features a hydraulically driven, thermostat-controlled reversible fan for improved engine cooling and easy cleaning of materials. Case Construction Equipment
