An Iowa City, Iowa, producer has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $33,500 to settle alleged violations of the federal Clean Water Act. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) identified the alleged violations when it conducted an inspection at the company’s quarry in April 2019.

EPA Seeking Diesel Emission Reductions in Four Midwest States
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Midwest Region (Region 7) will accept diesel emissions reduction proposals requesting up to $1.5 million from eligible applicants in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $44 million across the country in Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) grant program funding to eligible applicants.
