World of Concrete to Be First Major Trade Show Since COVID-19

World of Concrete organizer Informa Markets has received Nevada Department of Business and Industry approval to proceed with its 2021 in-person edition, rescheduled from an original January target to June 8-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). A second, imminent Department measure will position World of Concrete 2021 to be the city’s, as well as the United States’ first large-scale trade show in 15 months.

Following Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak’s recent address on a post-pandemic Las Vegas, Informa Markets worked with LVCC officials to submit a thorough health and safety plan to the Department of Business and Industry. It outlines specific operational protocols and communication strategies, largely based on the framework of Informa AllSecure – a set of rigorous health, hygiene and safety measures that prioritize guest safety at trade events, and mandate face masks and temperature checks for all.

“We are thrilled to return to the show floor and confident in our ability to execute a safe event under Informa AllSecure, with strong commercial outcomes for our customers,” said World of Concrete Group Director Jackie James. “The Nevada Department of Business and Industry has taken a dutiful and cautious approach to re-opening, and we are honored to be one of the first large-scale events to set the industry standard for safe and successful economic recovery. Our experienced team is excited to lead this charge.”

Eyeing opportunities to connect and engage business-to-business communities in 2021, she added, Informa Markets is taking a concertedly customer-focused approach to its return to live events. For the June LVCC gathering, the firm enlisted a third party to survey past World of Concrete attendees to ensure the decision to hold an in-person event is community driven. Among respondents, 80% were likely to attend in June and 97% viewed the decision as favorable to the industry.

World of Concrete 2021 attendee registration is open, followed by exhibitor registration in April.
