Hanson Plant Joins Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Partners for Pollution Prevention (Partners) welcomed Hanson Aggregates into the program.

The producer’s Harding Street Quarry in Indianapolis will be inducted in early 2021 at a Partners quarterly meeting. As a member, Hanson Aggregates pledges to implement voluntary environmental initiatives at its facility, share information and expertise with other businesses, foster environmental stewardship among its employees, and help raise public awareness.

The Harding Street Quarry is an Environmental Stewardship Council Member that is also a member of the Indiana Mineral and Aggregates Association. The plant has received several outstanding environmental awards over the years. The facility was acquired and has been in production since 1999.

The company joins 102 other Indiana businesses that have committed to the Partner Pledge. Partners also go above and beyond with their commitment to voluntary environmental initiatives.

A Partners membership provides each company with opportunities to network with other industries, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and governmental entities that share an interest in pollution prevention. They also will benefit from learning about the financial and environmental benefits of pollution prevention projects from the Partners organization.

Partners hold three quarterly meetings a year and an annual conference and trade show where members exchange ideas, receive updates on regulations and hear pollution prevention success stories.
