GCAA Holds Winter Board Meeting

On Dec. 9, the Georgia Construction Aggregate Association (GCAA) held its annual winter board meeting and Christmas Luncheon at the Atlanta Athletic Club. This meeting was kicked off by Board President Scott Dickson, Hanson Aggregates.

The meeting consisted of updates from GCAA Executive Director Jeff Wansley as well as a political overview from Scott Maxwell, Mathews & Maxwell. “A key issue for our industry in the 2021 Georgia Legislative Session will be legislation focused on funding for freight and logistics legislation,” the association stated. Wansley thanked the group for their continued leadership and support during the COVID-19 crisis this year.

The guest speaker for the luncheon was State Representative Vance Smith. Representative Smith serves on the Transportation, Environment, Economic Development and Ways & Means committees in the State House. Smith gave an overview of his projections for the 2021 legislative session.

Co. and Alan Densmore, Alan Densmore, Inc. In addition, Joe Carnahan, Luck Stone; Ronaldo Dos Santos, Junction City Mining Co.; and Jimmy Fleming, Vulcan Materials joined via conference call.
