Martin Marietta Materials Inc. announced the appointment of Anthony R. Foxx as an independent member to its board of directors, effective Nov. 6. With Foxx’s appointment, the Martin Marietta Board is comprised of 11 directors, 10 of whom are independent and six of whom have joined since 2016. Foxx will serve on Martin Marietta’s Finance Committee.

Dodge Momentum Index Posts Dip in October

The Dodge Momentum Index fell 1.8% in October to 127.5 (2000=100) from the revised September reading of 129.8. The Momentum Index, issued by Dodge Data & Analytics, is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year.
