March 30, 2020 – Mike Johnson, president and CEO of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA), is appealing to the nation’s aggregates producers to help with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). “There is great need for PPE among medical professionals and first responders across the country,” he said. “As the COVID-19 crisis continues to grow, areas of our country that have become ‘hotspots’ are the most in need of safety equipment such as N95 masks, respirators, safety goggles, rubber gloves and the like. As responsible stewards of our communities, NSSGA wants to facilitate the good nature of our members to donate safety items they may have and be able to part with. NSSGA staff will work to put each company in touch with a Congressional office or organization for those items to be sent, so they may get to those in need at this time.”
