The Academy of Blasting and Explosive Technology has released its 2020 Seminar Schedule to the public. This year the academy has launched several new programs including a certification program as a Blasting Safety Manager and Boom! 2020, an Executive Blasting Summit.
The Academy of Blasting and Explosives Technology is the world’s only training center for blasting and explosive engineering available to industry. Every year the Academy has numerous ‘public’ training programs which are taught by industry experts and can be attended on an individual basis.
The training counts towards Blaster’s Licensing, Professional Development Hours, or Continuing Education Hours. Seminars are offered at multiple locations. Past students of the academy have gone on to lead their companies to large savings by implementing new drill and blast programs, beginning corporate drill and blast programs, and achieviing large advances in their respective careers with the knowledge and skills learned at the academy.
This year brings back the industry-famous Rock Blasting and Overbreak Control Seminar, which teaches students how to design surface blasts to reduce costs while increasing explosive efficiency.
This course trains students with modern methods of blasting to not only design blasts that work, but blasts that carefully balance fragmentation, heave and ground vibration to produce ideal results. This course is critical for anyone who manages or designs blasts for construction projects, quarries and open pit mines.
The academy is also launching a new certification program this year, for Blasting Safety Manager. This program involves in-depth training on the regulations for blasting operations, safety around explosives and rock blasting, and includes hands-on work with explosives to analyze the risks presented in the blasting world. This course is critical for mine managers, supervisors and engineers, and safety managers who are looking to acquire world-class training to keep their crews safe.
The Academy of Blasting and Explosive Technology is also rolling out a new executive training summit, Boom! 2020, which will be held in Orlando in December 2020. This new program will include multiple speakers who will present on the newest technological advances in the blasting industry including new sustainable blasting near communities, the application of drones to the blasting world, new technology that is revolutionizing blasting, and the drilling and blasting aspect of mine to mill optimization.
