Granite Hires Diversity Executive

Jorge A. Quezada has joined Granite as vice president of diversity and inclusion. In this newly created role, Quezada will report to Phillip M. DeCocco, senior vice president of human resources, and be responsible for implementing strategies that address Granite’s guiding belief that diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences enhance creativity and innovation.

“We are very pleased to have someone with Jorge’s background and experience join Granite in this new and important role,” said DeCocco. “While we are in the early stages of our journey, I am excited about the positive impact that our diversity and inclusion efforts will have on the evolution of Granite’s culture and future success.” 

Quezada joins Granite from his current position as senior director, diversity and inclusion and leadership development, at Northwestern Mutual. In this role, he was responsible for designing and executing diversity and inclusion strategies, as well as leadership and training programs. 

Prior to Northwestern Mutual, Quezada served as chief diversity officer at Kraft Foods from 2013 to 2015 and as inclusivity diversity director at Allstate Insurance Co. from 2011 to 2013.

Quezada earned a bachelor’s in political science from Whittier College and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
