Congressman Visits Carmeuse Grand River Operation

Rep. Dave Joyce (R-Ohio) and District Outreach Representative Katie Berger visited Carmeuse’s Grand River facility in Grand River, Ohio, on August 19 to gain a better understanding of Carmeuse’ North American and global operations.

The congressman reached out to Carmeuse to request the visit so he could get to know his constituents and better understand the needs of the businesses within his district. Carmeuse Site Operations Manager Brian Horvath presented the highlights of the Grand River operation, including the company and site’s dedication to zero injury, sustainability and the industries that Carmeuse serves.

Horvath also presented the Corporate Carmeuse video, the Grand River 2018 sustainability video and the 2019 Grand River safety video to further demonstrate the company’s commitment to safety, community relations and business model. Lastly, a discussion on business environment and the impact on the lime industry followed. “It was nice to spend time with Congressman Joyce to educate him about Carmeuse and also to hear about the initiatives that are most important to him,” said Horvath. “He was extremely impressed with our operation and the dedication of all our employees.”

Based in Pittsburgh, Carmeuse operates 28 production facilities, staffed by up to 2,000 employees who are “driven by a passion for success, quality, efficiency and respect for the environment,” the company stated.
