Okada America Inc. showcased the expansion and upgrade of its Medina, Ohio, facility at an open house, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event – attended by Rock Products – featured President Jim Brown, Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell, Sharon Township Trustee Joe Canestrano and representatives from the Medina Chamber of Commerce.

The expansion resulted from the acquisition of an adjacent 10,000-sq.-ft. building. Three buildings are now included in the complex with administrative and service personnel moving into the new building.

The newly acquired building now includes an expanded reception lobby, administrative and service offices, kitchen facilities, a product-display area and increased inventory space.Other upgrades were completed in the service and assembly building, including reinforced concrete floors, a work pit for the dismantling and re-assembly of hydraulic hammer top-mounting brackets and power cells, and the installation of a 10-ton overhead crane with a 35-ft. runway.

“We are proud to showcase our newly upgraded facility,” Brown said. “Okada now offers construction product technology from three major facilities the United States through more than 200 U.S. and Canadian distributors.”

Okada has a successful history of developing and marketing both pneumatic and hydraulic attachments for the construction and demolition industries. In early 1996, the formation of a joint venture company known as Okada America Inc. was formed, which dramatically increased both sales and product offerings.

Okada America was initially located at two different locations in Medina, Ohio, and finally in 2014 settled at its present location at 904 Medina Rd. Later Okada America became 100% owned by the joint venture partner Okada AIYON Corp., the leading demolition attachment manufacturer in Osaka, Japan.
