March 26, 2019 – Rogers Group’s Whites Creek Quarry, Nashville, gave an underground tour to University of Kentucky mining engineering students, who were in town during the International Society of Explosive Engineers conference. Rogers Group has developed relationships with several universities with mining and civil engineering degree programs. This is a great idea, and one that quarry operations need to do more often. Mining engineering students are the future of the industry and we need to engage them early and often. Rock Products magazine is sent to all of the major mining engineering schools, in the hope that students will learn more about and ultimately embrace the aggregates industry for a rewarding career.
