McLanahan Corp. hosted its second Dealer Academy at the Sheraton Grand in Nashville, Jan. 22-23. This two-day event allowed McLanahan to spend time with its dealers, as well as provide educational training on wet processing equipment and new resources.
“The goal of the Dealer Academy is to enhance our dealers’ technical expertise, introduce them to the latest resources and news from McLanahan, and discuss trends of the industry,” the company said.
In attendance, were 58 dealers representing 15 companies, along with multiple McLanahan sales managers, engineers, and product managers. During this event dealers got a more in depth look at McLanahan’s line of washing and classifying equipment, cyclones, pumps, fines recovery systems, thickeners, filter presses and more.
Attendees were trained on the proper questions to ask when at a site and how to justify a capital request. On the final day of the event, attendees worked to create a solution for a potential customer based on what they learned at the event and then presented their findings to the group.
“This academy gives us the opportunity to talk to our dealers, share our experiences and learn more about what’s going on in the field. Our dealers are an extension of us, so it’s important that we are all on the same page. We want to make sure they feel like they can give customers the best possible solution and support – that’s what this week was about,” said Rick Madara, director of sales – North America, McLanahan.
During this year’s event, McLanahan also presented a company update. This included new marketing initiatives with a relaunched website and plans for a dealer app; new equipment launches such as the UltraWASH modular plant, portable fines recovery plants, the H-Series Horizontal Screen, and easily configurable washing plants; available testing and selection tools; and updates to AggFlow software.
For the AggFlow software, Matthew Lear, regional sales manager, presented an overview of the updates McLanahan has made to AggFlow and how to use this to provide the best possible customer information.
