• International Brent crude oil futures fell 55 cents, or nearly 1 percent, to $60.95 per barrel at press time, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 52 cents, or 1 percent, to $52.49 per barrel.

• Jordan Sands named Chris Passauer vice president sales and logistics. In his new role, Passauer will help lead the strategic direction and tactical execution of the Jordan Sands sales and logistics functions including development and management of customer contracts, all spot and in-basin sales, as well as full management of in-basin transloads and the rail fleet operations. “Since joining the business last March, Chris has expanded our customer base, broadened our in-basin footprint and improved overall rail fleet management. We are fortunate to have someone with his talent and passion for providing excellent customer service as a key person in our leadership team,” said Scott Sustacek, Jordan Sands chief executive officer.

• At the 2019 Wisconsin Industrial Sand Association Technical Seminar and Membership Meeting – scheduled for Feb. 20 in Eau Claire, Wis. – Sen. Kathy Bernier (R-Lake Hallie) will offer an outlook for the 2019-2020 Legislative Session, and how it might impact the industry. Bernier was elected to the Assembly in 2010, and currently serves on the Committee on Local Government, Small Business, Tourism and Workforce, among others. Register now!
