River Bend Sand and Gravel of Salem, Ore., is celebrating an achievement of four million man-hours without a lost-time injury.
“I am very proud of our Oregon team for having achieved this milestone,” Ric Linares North West Region president of Oldcastle Materials said. “It truly represents embracing the Zero-Harm culture we strive for in our West Division.”
Linares said that River Bend Sand and Gravel focuses on empowering individuals so that they feel comfortable with always making the right decision in every situation and never feel pressured to do anything that is not completely safe.
“We treat each other as family and watch out for one another,” Linares said. “We also strive for personal engagement to embed our safety culture throughout the organization.”
