On Oct. 18, 2017, U.S. Congressman Rod Blum (R-Iowa) and State Representative Kristi Hager toured the Pattison Sand Co. operations in Clayton, Iowa. Throughout the tour, they were able to learn more about the Sands and Aggregates business and the rail expansion project underway at the facility.

“I had no idea how big this operation has become,” said Blum. “They expect to ship 3,000,000 tons of sand and aggregate next year and employ nearly 300 people. Pattison Sand is believed to be the largest family-owned sand operation in the country.”

Hager said she was impressed as well. “Pattison Sand has a large economic impact on our area and they offer great pay and benefits. I was most impressed by their attention to the health and safety of their people.”

“We are honored to host Congressman Blum and Representative Hager and share our success story and continued commitment to the state and region with them both,” said Kyle Pattison, owner of Pattison Sand Co. “As a major shipper of sand and aggregates, it is key to our continued success that we safely and efficiently ship our high-quality products to customers throughout the U.S., and our rail expansion project is already having a major impact.”
