If it wasn’t for Harold Peterson, Ray Taylor might not be alive to thank him. Both work at Wendling Quarries, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Peterson was there when Taylor suffered a heart attack last summer. “Just happened to see something blue laying on the ground over here, couldn’t quite figure out what it was,” Peterson told KCRG news. “But I loaded up, came by and saw it was Ray.” That’s when he called for help from fellow co-workers. Another employee, Howard Fruehling, helped give Taylor CPR. Both Fruehling and Peterson are CPR certified, along with 88 other workers at Wendling Quarries. Taylor lived, and Harold Peterson is a Rock Star.
