House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.), and columnist, diplomat and author James Glassman will speak at the opening session of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association’s (NSSGA) 2015 Annual Convention, Monday, March 16, at the Baltimore Hilton, Baltimore.NSSGA SPKR 323

“Surface transportation reauthorization remains NSSGA’s highest legislative priority and we will hear directly from the bill’s primary architect,” NSSGA’s President and CEO Michael W. Johnson said. “Chairman Shuster understands the critical importance that a long-term and sustainable bill for maintaining the nation’s roads, highways and bridges has to our nation’s economy. In the coming weeks, he will be urging his colleagues on Capitol Hill to pass a bill before the existing MAP-21 patch runs out at the end of May.

“Financial and economic expert James Glassman’s insights on the need to invest in infrastructure as an imperative for economic growth and job creation will be invaluable to our cause. His unique perspective as a former U.S. Ambassador, syndicated financial columnist and CNN talk show moderator will certainly provide our members with a meaningful discussion about the issue we care about the most,” Johnson added.
