The Young Leaders Luncheon will take place in the Baltimore Convention Center during the AGG1 Academy and Expo. The luncheon is sponsored by Rock Products and the keynote is sponsored by Superior Industries.

A former high school and college football star, Turin earned a Civil Engineering degree before joining the family aggregates business, Mt. Hood Rock. Turin has managed the asphalt production and rock quarry company with his father and three brothers for more than two decades. In 2010, hometown friends brought him in as an outside consultant at their Porcupine Creek, Alaska, gold prospecting claim. He helped the rookie miners get their Alaskan operation running and was inspired by their dream of mining for gold. Turin was offered the chance to join the team full time and has regularly appeared on “Gold Rush” since its second season.

“We’re thrilled to host Dave Turin at our Young Leaders Luncheon,” said NSSGA Chairman Paul Detwiler III, president of New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc., and inaugural chairman of Young Leaders in 1991. “He has a passion for improving the incoming generation of workers’ perception about the mining industry and what it means to be a miner in today’s world. He’ll provide valuable insights on how to keep talented young people in our business.” After the address, luncheon attendees will have the opportunity to ask Turin questions about his background and experience.
