Terex Finlay introduced two new machines for quarry duty at this year’s Hillhead show: the 883+ and the 893.

The Terex Finlay 883+ is designed to work after a primary crusher or on its own as a frontline screening machine. This versatile and adaptable machine is suitable for working in quarrying, mining, construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, sand, gravel, coal and aggregate applications, the company said.

This aggressive forward facing inclined modular configuration screenbox has a 4.8- x 1.5-m top deck and a 4.8- x 1.5-m bottom deck giving a total screening area of 14.4 sq. m (155 sq. ft.).

Depending on the working application of the machine hydraulic adjustment can be used to vary the angle of the screen box between 13 to 19 degrees. The top deck of the screenbox can be fitted with a variety of screening media including: tines, bofor bars, punched plate and mesh. The bottom deck can be fitted with mesh or cascade fingers.

A high-torque drive steel pan apron feeder is fitted to the machine as a standard feature and has proven performance and versatility in demanding and varied working environ-
ments. The hopper has a 7-cu.-m capacity as standard with a drop rear door for use in conjunction with a mobile crusher.

The machine is equipped with three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors allowing for maximum stockpiling capacity and associated benefits of rapid set up and tear down times.

Additional features of the machine include galvanized access ladders and catwalks fitted as standard to both sides of the screen box. Hydraulic raising of the screenbox discharge end provides additional clearance for screenbox and fines transfer conveyor maintenance.

The Terex Finlay 893 is a highly versatile and aggressive machine engineered and built for working in quarrying, mining, construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, sand, gravel, coal, ore and aggregate applications, the company said.

This aggressive forward facing inclined modular configuration screenbox has a 6.1- x 1.83-m (20- x 6-ft.) top deck and a 5.5- x 1.83-m (18- x 6-ft.) bottom deck. Depending on the working application of the machine hydraulic adjustment can be used to vary the working range angle of the screen box between 14 to 18 degrees. The screenbox top deck can be fitted with a variety of screening media including mesh, punch-plate, bofor bars and tines. The bottom deck can be fitted with mesh, punch plate and cascade fingers.

A high performance 1100-mm (44-in.) apron feeder and hydraulic gearbox drive is fitted to the machine as standard and has proven performance and versatility in demanding and varied working environments. The hopper has a 10-cu.-m (13.1-cu.-yd.) capacity as standard.

The machine is powered by either a Tier 3 / Stage 3A Caterpillar C6.6 151kW (202 hp) or a Tier 4i Caterpillar C4.4 129kW (173 hp) and is equipped with three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors allowing for maximum stockpiling capacity and associated benefits of rapid set up and tear down times.

The heavy duty crawler tracks, and optional radio remote control unit, make on site mobility very easy.

A key feature of the machine is the ability to hydraulically raise the screenbox 600 mm (24 in.) at the discharge end to provide additional clearance for ease of media change as well as routine maintenance of the screenbox and fines transfer.

The plant has the capacity to process at a rate of up to 800 tph and can be fed either by a tracked mobile crusher or an excavator.

This fully self-contained plant can be hydraulically folded and ready for transport in less than 30 minutes making it the ideal machine for large scale contract screening projects were a highly productive and dependable screen is paramount.
