Second Annual Frac Sand Insider Conference Set for Pittsburgh

Mining Media International and Rock Products magazine announced that the second annual Frac Sand Insider Conference & Expo will take place Nov. 16-18, 2014, at the Westin Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

The Frac Sand Insider Conference & Expo is a focused, informative event tailored to both experienced frac sand producers and companies considering entry into the market. The 2014 event – which builds on 2013’s inaugural event – will again give manufacturers and consultants an opportunity to meet directly with decision makers from producers throughout North America.

“As the demand for frac sand continues to rise, more producers are looking to become part of the supply chain,” said Tim Fearney, show director. “The Frac Sand Insider Conference & Expo is designed to address the challenges and opportunities involved in frac sand production, both for those companies already producing frac sand and those that plan on entering this market.”

The conference educational program will feature can’t-miss topics such as:

  • Market Opportunities.
  • Making Sand in Spec and Testing.
  • Permitting and Legal/Regulatory Issues.
  • Crushing/Screening/Conveying.
  • Transportation Logistics.

“The conference program will tackle the issues facing frac sand producers, from regulatory concerns to market opportunity,” said Eric Skates, conference marketing manager. “The expo floor will feature the suppliers of the products and services that will help frac sand producers implement the concepts demonstrated in the conference.”

Mark Kuhar, editor of Rock Products and the Frac Sand Insider e-newsletter, emphasized the importance of the event as a valuable information-sharing and networking opportunity.

“Beside all the educational and sourcing opportunities, Frac Sand Insider is a face-to-face networking event that gives members of this very specialized industry segment an opportunity to meet others in their field,” Kuhar said. “That’s a significant value in the frac-sand-production segment of the industry.”
