November 12, 2013 – The second day of Sandvik’s Quarry Academy here in San Antonio was highlighted by a seminar series focused on big-picture mine planning and blasting. Sessions included Lean Thinking Applied to the Quarry Process; Mine – Quarry Planning; The Chemical Crusher: Drilling & Blasting; Best in the Blast: Fragmentation Management; Blasting Vibration Control: Take Control, Not Grief; A Reality Check: A Legal Perspective on Blasting Risk Management. Participants are also taking turns on a Volvo loader simulator designed to test operator skills. Rock Products is pleased to be part of this special event.
